Doo.Ri

NEW YORK, June 9, 2010
By Romney Leader
Doo-Ri Chung is smart enough to know her niche. "I love working with materials other than jersey," the designer said at her showroom. "But the draped pieces are what people gravitate towards." By that measure, her Resort collection should be an easy hit with customers. A midnight blue wrapped tunic with dramatic folds will appeal to the edgier girl, while a tailored magenta-patterned shift dress with subtle side draping made for a polished day look. Blouses—a key seller for the brand—figured prominently in the collection as well, most notably in the form of a one-shouldered blush lamé number and an unadorned army green silk version.

All that draping calls for a structured piece to complete the look. Enter the navy boyfriend blazer with tulle "lapel" Chung paired with a little white jersey frock. Smart, indeed.
