T by Alexander Wang

T by Alexander Wang has been more than just a T-shirt line from the start, but the designer continues to push the boundaries of his less expensive collection. New for pre-fall were leather separates, often mixed with ponte jersey to keep prices hovering around the $500 sweet spot. He added more wovens to the mix, too. Button-downs and shirtdresses, for example, were streamlined takes on the tricked-out tops in his tailoring-focused signature line. At the other end of the sexy spectrum was a stretchy burgundy dress with mesh insets at the hips that also had its precedent in his big-sister brand. All that was missing were the sharply cut blazers. For that kind of quality tailoring, Wang fans will have to turn to the main collection.
