"Forget calling it Resort or Pre-spring—I'm sick of labels. For me, this is an 11/1 delivery," said Tracy Reese. The designer presented what she called "a takeaway capsule for the customer who goes on vacation," but one with "a lot of good wear-now options" if she stays at home. The business-minded Reese included such cruise-y items as printed bandeau bikinis and gauzy cover-up tunics, as well as transitional staples like graphic intarsia pullovers and easy knit tracksuits. "We're getting more and more casual with our silhouettes lately, but everything still needs to have something special about it," Reese explained. Highlights included the plaid topcoat, leggings, and walking shorts cut from a stretchy scuba fabric. Reese is always good for an ultra-feminine moment, and she showed a full petticoat skirt as well as a strapless party dress in an eye-catching hydrangea print with a matching sporty bomber. That look would make a splash on the beach or in the city.
