But Wren is a contemporary collection, which means Coker used those rich fabrics in updated silhouettes, such as a swingy miniskirt and a double-breasted oversize blazer. There was a holiday feel to the lineup, and the truly lounge-y pieces—including a pair of elastic pants in the burnout velvet and a cropped bed jacket—could be dressed way up or down depending on the occasion. (Coker suggested mixing it all with beat-up denim.)
While texture ruled, there were a few simple black silk items—including the requisite jumpsuit—to keep things grounded. Coker's MO is cute, slightly nostalgic clothes with which a certain kind of girl could build a wardrobe. These were playful additions.
