Daniel Vosovic keeps the day-to-day needs of his close girlfriends in mind while designing a new collection, and offered a range of functional options to take them through a full week for Fall. There were sharp, lapel-less blazers for a Monday boardroom meeting, bright tweedy frocks for dinner with the parents on Wednesday, a Thursday night date-worthy maxi dress, and the obligatory novelty sweatshirt (he added interest with astrakhan) for a Saturday afternoon shopping excursion. At our appointment, Vosovic pointed to a stretchy sheath with a forgiving burgundy-colored ponyhair panel in front as ideal for "cocktail events that you want to feel OK eating at." Everyone in the fashion industry has been to their fair share of those. He kept the silhouette slim and slouchy throughout. Standouts included a pair of double-waisted trousers, as well as a cool ponyhair moto jacket that gave the illusion of having cropped sleeves. Over the past two seasons, Vosovic has really focused on hitting that upper contemporary sweet spot—doing so helped him pick up 23 new retailers for Spring. Ringing up at $645, the aforementioned biker is priced to move.
