It takes a heck of a lot of confidence to convincingly pull off a signature Hervé Léger bandage dress. Each season, designers Max and Lubov Azria celebrate their alpha female customer by showing her new and different ways to wear the enduring classic. The Fall collection, which introduced more separates than ever, also encouraged liberal layering for a change. Ever think you'd see sweatpants on the Hervé Léger runway? A slouchy pair, still cut from the bandage scuba material, was shown with a sleek goatskin/fox fur sweatshirt. If that seemed like a departure from house codes, it was an exciting one.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Most of the lineup was tried-and-true: stretchy sheaths that were updated in an ocelot-print jacquard or embellished with either gunmetal hardware or a matte rubberized beading that resembled bumpy stingray. Even the more covered-up looks still managed to be sexy. A high-waisted pencil skirt worn with matching leggings, for example, was balanced out with a clingy long-sleeved crop top that revealed a sliver of midriff. At the end of the day, sweatpants or not, the Hervé Léger woman likes to flaunt what she's got.
