There's only so much you can say with a beautiful sweater, but season after season, Marcia Patmos finds ways to continually stoke the knitwear conversation. For Fall, the M.Patmos
designer sought to evoke "the bourgeois, eccentric lady of the house, who borrows pieces from her husband's closet," with layered-up looks like an olive-green "trench" cardigan that was tied languidly at the waist with a satin sash and shown over a shimmery slip with allover beading in a digitized camouflage pattern. Aside from that dress, camouflage and ikat motifs popped up in a variety of fabrications throughout the collection—most notably on a clingy jacquard sheath paired with a surplus-y bomber jacket, on a funnel-neck dickey, and on long fingerless gloves. Patmos rounded out the lineup with sharp pony-hair pencil skirts and a reversible patchwork shearling coat that added depth to her refined, seasonless knits.
