Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear

KTZ continued its nomadic streak today. Last season, Marjan Pejoski conjured Berber North Africa; this collection, meanwhile, had a Moroccan slant, with mirrored embroideries redolent of Handira wedding blankets. This was a dense collection, and there were plenty of pieces, like the faceted leggings, that affirmed this brand's reputation as a go-to for club kids. But there were also a ton of looks with a more mainstream appeal: You don't have to live for a four-on-the-floor beat to appreciate the pleated KTZ skirts or the organza tees with geometric patterns of laser-cut leather. The standout items here, though, had to be the ones featuring that Handira blanket embroidery: The work was quite heavy, which made looks like a fully embroidered pencil dress a tough sell, but on the other hand, a hooded bomber embroidered in the same fashion was totally convincing.
