Reem Acra

Reem Acra never met a sequin she didn't like. But although her opulence has made her a favorite among Middle Eastern royalty (as well as the grand Hollywood variety), she has, in recent seasons, been targeting a cooler customer. For Spring, Acra imagined her collection being worn by the American princess—a spoiled girl who "does what she wants, how she wants, where she wants, and when she wants." A long champagne flute of a dress covered entirely in gold paillettes would work for either the red carpet or a very tony sweet-sixteen party; a simple jersey tank tucked into high-waisted ivory crepe pants screamed "young ladies who lunch." A few looks did overdose on the embellishments, but that's to be expected here. These days an American princess could mean almost anyone from Elettra Wiedemann to Snooki, but we can all agree it's fun to play dress-up from time to time, and Reem Acra certainly satisfies that whim.
