Hervé Léger by Max Azria

It's not unusual for a Hervé Léger bandage dress to have a whiff of danger and power. And Max and Lubov Azria seem to like it that way. For Spring, they built on last season's armor theme with crafty detail and tribal motifs to create a look that read dystopian warrior princess. (Game of Thrones fans, think of a wardrobe fit for a Khaleesi and you've got it.) Things were fierce enough with braided harnesses and rows of cylindrical beads approximating golden artillery, but strapped and buckled gladiator boots to the knee underscored the point a bit too heavily at times. Though the scraped-back hair and minimal makeup made these girls look not-to-be-messed-with, no one ever said that being tough precluded luxury. To that end, the ikat-textured jacquard glowed with rose gold, silver, or gold foil. On one dress, a zigzag pattern was picked out in a barrelful of seed beads, the kind of thing you might trade for cattle in a Mad Max world.
