"Easy glamour." That was the sound bite Rachel Zoe gave a swarm of reporters at her first fashion-week presentation for her nascent contemporary line. The stylist-turned-reality-star-turned-designer had a packed house at her Broadway showroom. Kim Kardashian and Molly Sims showed up, and you had to duck for cover to avoid the cameramen angling for a shot of the three TV queens. Negotiating the crowd, Bergdorf Goodman's Linda Fargo reported that Zoe's Fall collection is selling well at the Fifth Avenue department store. So, we asked, is it the name on the label or the clothes themselves? Both, she indicated. And the fit.

All the Rachel-isms are here for Spring: one-shouldered dresses, tailored blazers over evening gowns, long skirts, leopard print (or, at least a dot very close to leopard print). But we counted only one flare; Zoe is liking a tapered pant cropped high above the ankle these days. She likes high-waisted faded denim shorts with a crisp, white button-down buttoned up all the way, and a butterscotch leather jacket. And she also likes red, by the looks of the head-to-toe ruby silk georgette and slouchy pants combo. Zoe isn't necessarily setting trends with her ready-to-wear, but she's quickly becoming reliable at delivering them.
