"Let's just skip these next six months," Tracy Reese said backstage before her runway show today. Spring is definitely Reese's favorite season, from both a design and a sales point of view. Her feminine party dresses (as opposed to structured outerwear, for example) are what keep the registers ringing, and there were plenty of those here. A mid-calf, graphic floral one in a deconstructed jacquard, in particular, seemed fresh.

This collection hit on many of the trends we've been seeing for the past few months. Neons? Check. There was a peacock blue DB leather jacket with matching tie-waist shorts. Sheer? Check. Just peep the va-va-voom, lingerie-inspired finale number worn by Shena Moulton. Reese even got in on this week's emerging athletic-gear craze with a pair of techno-fabric anoraks. At times, the trends felt a little forced. One blouse in an of-the-moment, mirrored tropical pattern, which also combined shoulder cutouts with a menswear-inspired collar, simply had too much going on at once. But that same hothouse botanical pattern worked wonderfully when patchworked with stripes on a flattering frock; Reese's contemporary customer will appreciate this kind of modern update.
