's Spring collection told the story of a British girl traveling to France. At a preview, a member of the line's creative team spun a tale of a London college student who spends her summer vacation at her grandmother's country estate in Normandy before taking off for Ibiza, then hitting a music festival or two on her way back home. Indeed, there was a nomadic eclecticism about the new range, but one that was carried out in SBC's characteristically clean, youthful style. Sharp surplus jackets, cropped trousers, and tasseled tops featured cheeky jungle motifs (inky palm trees, in addition to giraffe and leopard faces and paws mixed in with their respective spots), while long silk shorts and a sweet cutout apron frock came with allover mosaic prints evocative of kitchen tile. Another clever play on pattern arrived in the form of a pleated, stripy midi shirtdress with additional trompe l'oeil folds. On the more pared-down side of things were a sturdy canvas twill cape, a denim utility jumpsuit, and crisp pin-striped shirtdresses in line with the season's trends. All in all, a solid outing for Chloé's secondary line.
