June 28, 2007 – The rest of the world may be shopping for sun hats and visors, but fashion fanatics are busy learning how to tie their babushkas. First spotted at Vera Wang—where the doll-like Russian model Vlada Roslyakova took to the runway with a head scarf right out of "Little Red Riding Hood"—the Fall trend really took off in Milan. Dolce & Gabbana and Blumarine showed fur styles, while at Daks, Giles Deacon created a somewhat humbler effect with a simple ribbon wound about the head. In Paris, folk met sixties futurism when Yves Saint Laurent's Stefano Pilati eschewed the scarf for pate-encasing hoodlets. We're sure grandmother would approve.
