Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria

Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams

Save for the evening's Crash landing (the movie won in the ensemble cast category), there were no surprises Sunday night during the 12th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards—and few on the red carpet beforehand, either. Many a svelte starlet opted for a strapless dress, including presenters Hilary Swank, Sandra Bullock, and Ellen Pompeo. Wisteria Lane's repeat winners Felicity Huffman and Nicollette Sheridan also went the bustier route, but in such spring-has-sprung colors as lavender and green the shade of freshly cut grass.

In keeping with the Golden Globes' minimalist theme, Charlize Theron, Amy Adams, and Anne Hathaway looked elegant in that old faithful, black, while Michelle Williams, Mariska Hargitay, and Jennifer Esposito went with refreshing white. Combining the two colors were Sandra Oh and Reese Witherspoon; the latter, fresh off her Chanel snafu, turned to another French fashion house, Yves Saint Laurent.
