Many a spangled socialite floated into the American Museum of Natural History on Thursday night for the winter dance, working this year's Heavenly Bodies theme to the max. The dress code was "celestial black tie," which was amply provided by Chloé, the evening's sponsor. Decked out in free-flowing creations from the French fashion house were co-chairs
Claire Bernard,
Olivia Chantecaille,
Lauren Davis,
Tinsley Mortimer, and
Ivanka Trump, among others.
After dining at tables adorned with huge flower arrangements signifying the solar system, guests retired to the Cullman Hall of the Universe, where stars of a different kindtelevision, mostlyjoined them for dessert. The variety-show-worthy lineup included a camera-shy Ashley Olsen, the newest face of "reality" TV, Brittny Gastineau, and nearly the entire cast of Saturday Night Live, thanks to the planetary pull of executive producer Lorne Michaels (he serves on the museum's board).
While Gastineau waxed poetic about her new series ("something cool to do with my mom"), SNL cast members Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler first fought among themselves for the title of best dressed, then turned to other concerns. "Where's Ashley Olsen?" they wondered. "Oh my god, she's in my drink! She's in my drink!"
