Puffed Up
A glowing Alessandra Facchinetti was clearly enjoying her new gig Monday night at the Palazzo Visconti, where Moncler threw a grand bash to launch Gamme Rouge, a line of quilted jackets created by the former Gucci designer. Embellished with crystals, sequins, organza, embroidery, and mink, the pieces seemed as suited to the front row as the slopes, and consequently went down a treat with guests like Vogue Italia's Franca Sozzani, Beatrice Borromeo, and Maria Buccelatti.

Pop Goes the Kaiser
On Tuesday, Diego della Valle and Interview magazine hosted the opening party for Tod's The World of Pop, a new exhibition at Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea. Delphine Arnault, India Hicks, Lady Helen Taylor, André Leon Talley, and Alek Wek were among those marveling at the personal effects on loan from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, including the artist's white wig and Polaroid camera. Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld, taking a break from fittings at Fendi, to cause the biggest stir of the night, though. When he paused in front of a projection of the film L'Amour, the crowd started to wolf whistle: Up on the screen, none other than a young Lagerfeld was making out with Patti D'Arbanville.

The Styler Crowd
Rifat Ozbek, Antonio Berardi, Matthew Williamson, Pucci CEO Catherine Vautrin, and Suzy Menkes enjoyed what editor Cindi Leive called "a liquid buffet" when Glamour magazine held a cocktail party and screening for Trudie Styler's Wait at Spazio Strato. Styler, whose directorial debut was inspired by a story written by Glamour reader Sandra Miller, didn't have any trouble blending in with the fashion crowd with her vintage Azzedine Alaïa number, Louboutin shoes, and Prada bag.

Fashion's Child
Margherita Missoni celebrated her 23rd birthday in true Milanese style. That meant dinner at home with plenty of friends and plenty of family. The latter included her grandparents Rosita and Tai Missoni, mother Angela, uncle Vittorio, and sister Teresa; the former, Emanuele and Joanna della Valle, artist Francesco Vezzoli, Vanity Fair's Elizabeth Saltzman, and Vogue's Hamish Bowles. Asked if she liked having her birthday fall in fashion week, Margherita said, "Not when I was young, as Mum and Dad were always working." Still there are compensations: Take the fabulous birthday cake, whose multicolored marzipan icing was a Missoni-esque zigzag.

The Notorious Dita Von Teese
A photo studio in the north of Milan was transformed, using mirrors, a lot of candles and some velvet ottomans, into a glam late-night party space to celebrate the new look of Jane magazine. Editor Brandon Holley took a fashion story from the March issue (one based on the film The Notorious Betty Page) and brought it to life by inviting none other than the burlesque star Dita Von Teese to perform. Von Teese, in town with her husband Marilyn Manson, said she was enjoying her time in the city. Her only caveat? All that delicious Italian food. "Pasta and corsets just don't go that well together," she sighed.
