Prada Parade
Squeezed in among the hundreds of guests at Prada's Soho store on Tuesday night was a slew of gorgeous catwalkers. "I like Agyness Deyn," said Heatherette's Richie Rich, who exchanged phone numbers (we're pretty sure it's a platonic thing) with his fellow platinum-haired club kid. "She's what a model should be like. She's fun. She smiles." Indeed, Deyn seemed to be having a blast rocking out to the experimental beats of the night's musical guest, CocoRosie. The party, which drew the likes of Jermaine Dupri, Brett Ratner, Chace Crawford, Amy Smart, and Angie Harmon, doubled as the premiere of Trembled Blossoms, a dreamy illustrated short created by Miuccia Prada. "I want those animated shoes so badly," said Ginnifer Goodwin.
Are Books the New Accessory?
Jimmy Choo CEO Joshua Schulman and film producer/author Amanda Goldberg go way back. "I've known Josh since I was, like, ten years old," said Goldberg. "I used to have sleepovers at his house with his sister Bethany." The vibe was more Champagne and canapés, less milk and cookies, when the two reunited for a party at Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn and Nick Rohatyn's art-filled Upper East Side abode. Hosted by Schulman and Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon, the evening fêted the publication of Goldberg's debut novel, Celebutantes. Although the book, co-written with Ruthanna Khalighi Hopper, is just hitting shelves, the two women are already thinking about the next step. "Now all we have to do is make the movie," said Khalighi Hopper.
Critic-Proof
Conversation at Matthew Williamson's Socialista after-party revolved aroundwhat else?the show. "Could you hear me over the music?" asked Joy Bryant. " 'Cause I think when every look came out, I would yell out 'Fierce!' to no one in particular." And as for those who weren't of the same opinion? "Forget what the bloody critics say," said Williamson, who was flanked throughout the night by A-list fans like Helena Christensen, Barbara Bush, Josh Hartnett, and Nicky Hilton. "I just want to make clothes that make women feel glamorous."
Inn Late
Fashion week's night owls packed into the Beatrice Inn for a little post-midnight dancing and drinking courtesy of Colette and Jalouse. While Irina Lazareanu headed for the door a little past 1 a.m., Colette's Sarah Lerfel was still greeting guests as the clock neared three. Once she'd given her feet a few songs' rest, Anouck Lepère was back on the dance floor, where she got down to Britney Spears in her Balenciaga sandals as beau Jefferson Hack looked on. "Fashion week can be so crazy. We wanted just to do something nicea night for our friends to come and hang out," Lerfel explained when asked what prompted the somewhat last-minute bash. "And of course, everyone always feels at home at Beatrice."
