"God bless Robert Redford and the filmmakers!" declared Shalom Harlow after the screening of A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash at the launch of the Sundance Channel's new programming "The Green" on Thursday night. "But watching the film isn't enough. We must act to improve our planet." The supermodel is doing her bit, it turns out. She has made a mini-documentary for her blog of Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann recycling plastic water bottles, and her longer-term measures include a vegetable patch and an organic clothing line, which she expects to debut in nine months. "For now, I'm in vintage," she said, gesturing to her YSL shirt and Gucci tie. "It's a form of fashion recycling."

At the post-screening party at ABC Home, guests such as Isabella Rossellini, Rufus Albemarle, and Luigi Tadini swapped eco-conscious living tips. "It's easy to clean up your act," said Moby. "Just move to New York, take public transport, and become a vegan." But all the talk proved to be an environmental hazard of its own after Rufus Wainwright took to the stage to perform. "Let's talk about noise pollution," he said when the chatter threatened to overwhelm his set. "Actually, let's not, so we won't have that problem."

Later, the singer mulled his own green credentials. "I'm a vegetarian, so I guess the greenest thing about me is my waste," said Wainwright, who lives around the corner from ABC Home. "I also try not to consume much, but it's hard when there's just so much stuff to buy here."
