Moschino's creative director, Rosella Jardini, sat down to an informal dinner at BG Thursday night with a group of fans that included Big Love's Ginnifer Goodwin. "I'm an excessive wearer of Moschino," said the actress, who was scheduled to fly back to L.A. to continue taping the show's second season the next day. "It complements a lot of my vintage finds from the forties and fifties." Jardini, in town to celebrate the opening of Moschino's in-store shop at Bergdorf Goodman, a few floors below, had vintage on her mind as well. She said she was looking for an old silver service. The other item on her Manhattan to-do list? A stop at Staley-Wise Gallery, where the avid photography collector hoped to find something to take back to Milan with her. Also in the crowd were hosts Alexis Bryan, Nina Garcia, and Mary-Alice Stephenson, along with Chris Klein, Topher Grace, and mannequin Lesly Masson.
Earlier that day, Carlos Souza hosted a Daniel Boulud-catered lunch at Valentino's Madison Avenue boutique in honor of Marie-Chantal of Greece. A long-time devotee of the designer, the princess appears on the November cover of House & Garden in one of his haute couture confections. What does home signify to Marie-Chantal, who now resides in London? "Coziness and my children." The feeling was shared by other guests like Alex Kramer and Marisa Noel Brown. But talk about cotillion dance training, soccer matches, and school schedules stopped momentarily when Valentino President and CEO Graziano de Boni discovered that it was the birthday of HG's Dominique Browning and asked guests to toast her. A demure MC, meanwhile, thanked the editor in chief for "putting up with me."
