A case of the sniffles couldn't keep
Nicole Kidman
from joining the
likes of Lauren Bacall, Griffin Dunne,
Adrian Grenier,
Padma Lakshmi, and host
Linda Wells
at Thursday night's Cinema Society screening of
Margot at the Wedding. Wearing a Jil Sander peacoat that showed
off her gams, Kidman expounded gamely, if somewhat hoarsely, on her
personal fashion credo. "Only wear what you feel comfortable in. And
don't be frightened to wear color," she advised, before noting the
immediate irony of her statement: "As I say, wearing full
black."
Uptown, meanwhile, Carolina Herrera sponsored the Apollo Circle Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Watching Byrdie Bell, Tory Burch, and their fellow socials on the dance floor, Mrs. Herrera remarked, "It's so wonderful to see so many beautiful girls hereand in my dresses." A different group of socialites and celebrities gathered at Capitale for the Aid for AIDS My Hero Gala. Style.com's Candy Pratts Price introduced Narciso Rodriguez, who was honored for his fundraising efforts. In 2006, the designer made AIDS Walk history by raising the largest amount of money by an individual. Last night's efforts added a further half a million dollars to the cause.
