"It's not fashion week if I don't have a book party," Michael Roberts said at Friday night's celebration of the new tome he made in collaboration with Roberto Cavalli. Fighters and Flowers is a pictorial story of a fictional Brazilian beefcake who likes to box in animal-print trousers and hang out with sexy girls in low-cut eveningwear. Guests like Grace Coddington, Poppy Delevingne, and Amy Sacco turned up at Cavalli's Madison Avenue boutique to toast the publication.

"I love Michael. He's a real artist," the designer said. "I'm a big believer in positivity, and I think the only way to get through these tough economic times is to keep doing what you're good at doing." Perhaps that's why, by the end of the party, Roberts was talking about his next project: a giant picture book on his love affair with Brazil, from the people to the fashion to the architecture. It won't be out for an entire season, but Roberts assured, "It'll be worth the wait."
