Eddie Borgo fetes his Anja Rubik-fronted ad campaign

"It's funny even saying COO—it sounds so obnoxious." But Eddie Borgo has had a chief operating officer for nearly a year now, and is getting plenty used to saying it. He also has his first-ever print ad, in The Last Magazine, a step forward that he celebrated last night at the McKittrick Hotel with the mag's Magnus Berger and Tenzin Wild.

The campaign stars Anja Rubik, where past ones have tended to feature fashion editors (such as Kate Lanphear, who joined for dinner, along with the likes of Alana Zimmer and Julia Stegner) and courted attention of the more viral variety. Borgo said he planned to advertise in more books next season, adding that he's been getting quite the business education lately. "I know I'm supposed to be inspired by all things creative all the time, but that's just not the truth—I can talk to you about profit-and-loss statements, profit margin, venture capital, private equity, until I'm blue in the face," he said. That might help explain why the dinner's headlining sponsor was Citi.

Following a mini-set by up-and-coming band Mone, the party became more of a stand-up affair. Hanuk floated over and, with mock frustration, coaxed Richard Chai and Phillip Lim to pose for a photo. "He always thinks I'm uptight," Lim shrugged. "I seem laid-back, but I'm actually more uptight," Chai said. Both had already sent their clothes down the runway and seemed pretty loose to us.
