Dinner With Mick and L'Wren
With New York fashion week just a few hours shy of officially coming to a close, L'Wren Scott hosted an intimate post-show celebration Friday night. Thirty or so friends, including Dustin Hoffman and Martin Scorsese (who arrived during the first course), fêted the designer at a proper sit-down dinner at Norwood. Afterward, guests streamed into the third-floor lounge, where well-wishers such as Julia and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld, Maria Cornejo, and Arden Wohl (sans headband) joined them for a lively dance party, with tunes courtesy of DJ Chris Sealey. Draped in a white sequined number from her current collection, Scott danced with a pregnant Rachel Feinstein Currin. "I wish I could have this baby in time to slip into one of her dresses for the Met gala," lamented the artist, who's expecting her third—it's a girl—in April.
Earlier in the day Scott had traded what was becoming a staple at her shows—the bento box—for heartier fare in the form of chicken potpie. Why the switch to comfort food? "I was playing soccer in Central Park earlier this week and it was so muddy and cold. I just wanted something that made people feel good," Scott explained. Co-host and significant other Mick Jagger was deep in conversation with Jack White of the White Stripes when we asked him how he navigates an intense week culminating in a fashion show. "I keep the morale up and the jokes going. Try to keep it lighthearted, you know?"
