For Cavalli's Coterie, Perks Are Limitless
What's the obvious partner for the word credit right now? You might say crunch, but Roberto Cavalli says card. He threw a big old bash to launch the Cavalli MasterCard in a gorgeously transfigured Milanese teatro. In triumphant defiance of harsh reality, Cavalli's guests enjoyed a five-course dinner, a slew of live entertainment, and the sight of Milla Jovovich, both on screen and in the glorious flesh, insisting that all she needed was the Cavalli card to equip her for every curveball life could throw. It must be said, both she and Elizabeth Hurley, the evening's other belle de nuit, looked prodigiously spectacular in their outfits—proof that Roberto, for all his cigar-chomping, walnut-tanned, man-of-the-people ways, is hot-wired into what makes a gal look good. Meanwhile, Vogue editors, German and Spanish editions, were contemplating visions of incipient doomsday, with a little help from Style.com's fiercely apocalyptic man on the spot. Maybe they'd have been better off heading back to the Principe with Olivier Zahm, the imp who makes every second count.
