Hardly Sheepish
Toasting Michael Roberts' Sexy New Book, The Good Shepherd
"This is just like any other fashion party," Vanity Fair's fashion director Michael Roberts lamented. "Me stuck in the back." 'Tis true, the packed crowd that had gathered at the Dolce & Gabbana store last night for the book signing of Roberts' new tome, The Good Shepherd, didn't allow much room for anyone to circulate. But Roberts needn't have fretted: When you're the man of the hour, the VIPs come to you. Rotating in quick succession, and each seeking an autographed copy, were Lee Radziwill, Grace Coddington, Rachel Zoe, Dr. Lisa Airan, and Lauren Santo Domingo. Given the book's subject matter—a photo essay of a handsome sheepherder who has a hard time keeping track of not only his shearlings but also his underwear—the sleek, sexy, and mirrored Dolce & Gabbana boutique proved the perfect venue. "Is it hot in here? Or is it just the book?" asked Joy Bryant. "I'm not sure what countryside Michael has been to, but I'm not leaving until he tells me where I can find it." For the record, Joy, it was Sicily, but since you're a married woman now, we suggest you don't book a flight any time soon.
