Alber Adoration Society
¿I always say, 'I came to New York with two suitcases, one with my things and the other with my dreams,' " said Alber Elbaz at the FIT Couture Council luncheon held in his honor Wednesday at the Rainbow Room. The Lanvin designer—who would be on a plane back to Paris hours later to put the finishing touches on his Spring collection—drew a standing ovation from a crowd of well-heeled admirers that included his actress pals Chloë Sevigny and Demi Moore. ¿Your comedic timing was perfect,¿ Mrs. Ashton Kutcher told him after his speech.

Brief Encounter
¿I have the best model on my arm,¿ said Kimora Lee Simmons as she surveyed the scene at the Calvin Klein Underwear 25th anniversary party, held at the label¿s Garment District headquarters later that night. Simmons only had eyes for her beau and current face of CK Underwear, Djimon Hounsou, but there was plenty of eye candy for other guests like Hilary Swank, Rachel Zoe, and Doutzen Kroes. ¿I¿m definitely checking the boys out,¿ said Agyness Deyn as she gestured to the underwear-clad models lounging in a glass box above the bar.

Debbie Does MoMA
"Fashion rocks" was the message at Tommy Hilfiger's party at the Museum of Modern Art. The fête, which celebrated Hilfiger and George Lois' upcoming book, Iconic America: A Roller-Coaster Ride Through the Eye-Popping Panorama of American Pop Culture, drew Jeremy Piven, Arden Wohl, The MisShapes, and Erin Fetherston, and included a short but strong set from Debbie Harry. "When you think about American music, you think of Blondie," concluded the designer.

The Earth Is Flat
Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Jessica Stam, and Waris Ahluwalia played hosts to the downtown brigade at An Earnest Cut & Sew in honor of the new Repetto pop-up store. After admiring the coveted ballet flats, guests toe-tapped their way over to nearby Bungalow 8, where the Virgins performed at the equally inundated after-party.

Where¿s Martin?
L.A. style setters—at least the ones who hadn't already left for fashion week in New York—descended upon Beverly Hills for the opening of the Maison Martin Margiela boutique, housed in a glittering building covered entirely in metallic discs. Tracey Ullman played with her Margiela pearl-and-leather necklace and proclaimed the city ¿totally ready¿ for the designer. ¿We¿ll never see him, of course,¿ she laughed, craning her neck. ¿Wonder who he might be?¿ Alas, the reclusive designer was a no-show—as far as we could tell.
