The Debbie Downers running the Mini Cooper rooftop Wednesday night were doing their darnedest to keep the guest count under 200 and stub out every last cigarette in the (hello, people!) open-air venue. Despite all the extra elbow room, though, the V Magazine party hummed right along, and smokers lit up with insouciance. Rachel Zoe, Joy Bryant, and Barbara Bush dropped by to swap fashion week banter and catch the performance by Swedish pop star Lykke Li. And since the party was in honor of a new issue featuring 14 different cover girls, the place was crawling with models. Plenty of them had spent the last few days working their ankles, but others were quite pleased to have sat this fashion week out. Doutzen Kroes, who took turns with fellow mannequins Hilary Rhoda and Natasha Poly in the DJ booth, said she'd spent the week honing her turntable skills. Irina Lazareanu, meanwhile, seems to have temporarily traded the catwalk for the Cuisinart…or at least attempted to. "I tried to do my mom's recipe for baked chicken with mushrooms," she said. "It didn't work out so well, so I ordered pizza." But it was a step forward, she added: "I used to burn toast."
