Boom Boom Wow
The Standard's New Bar Opens With A Bang
The Meatpacking District's Standard Hotel hasn't had what you'd call a soft opening. Movie premieres, VIP dinners—it's been a nonstop series of hot events and boldfaced names. The trend continued last night with the debut of the Boom Boom Room, a new bar with an old feel on the top of the hotel with 360-degree views of Manhattan and New Jersey (even the bathrooms have windows). Opening night brought quite the crew: Madonna and Jesus Luz, Lindsay Lohan, Jude Law, and Margherita Missoni and Coco Brandolini took over the booths behind the DJ. But others, like Olivier Zahm, Terry Richardson, and China Chow, climbed the stairs to the hotel's roof. "This is the best view in the city," Josh Hartnett declared, before disappearing with Peaches Geldof. Something tells us the hotel isn't going to shake its rep as the new hub of celebrity debauchery anytime soon.
