Mulberry's Rooftop Anniversary Bash
"What is this band called?" was a phrase heard on repeat at Mulberry's 40th birthday bash on the rooftop of the Skylight West studios last night. For those not conversant on the main act, us included, friend of the brand Alexa Chung did the explaining: "Kasabian, yeah, they're more of a British festival band, but it was interesting seeing them play a New York party. They are massive in the U.K." No surprise, then, that after they finished their set, a squad of New York's finest appeared to check out a noise complaint. About 20 minutes later, the policemen stepped in one elevator to leave and Anna Dello Russo popped out of the other. The party (and the music) was back in full swing. Mulberry had something else to celebrate: its newly opened flagship on Soho's Spring Street.
