Francisco Costa and Co. Throw a Dinner at ABC Kitchen
Not everyone at Calvin Klein Collection's dinner last night had attended the show earlier in the day. "I was getting my hair done," model Anne Vyalitsyna explained. Uma Thurman had been there, though, and was thrilled to have run into Patrick Demarchelier. "He took my first head shot, when I was 15 years old. He's very, very dear to me," she told Style.com.
A table over, newer friends Chloe Moretz and Ashley Greene chatted over peekytoe crab toast and organic chicken. The venue was the farm-to-table restaurant ABC Kitchen, which, with its exposed-beam ceilings and columns of coarse concrete, looked as unfinished as Francisco Costa and co.'s latest collection wasn't. "This was my absolute favorite, hands down," gushed Naomi Watts. "Everything was simple but had really good, important details that you could tell looked good on a woman. Sometimes fashion shows are all about the drama of the dress. This, everything felt wearable and real."
During her backstage visit before the show, Watts added, Costa had "seemed unusually relaxed," and that hadn't changed by dinnertime. But it was hard to find anyone looking more at ease than campaign model Lara Stone, who'd appreciated her front-row seat as perhaps only a professional catwalker can. "It was wonderful. You don't have to stress about anything—if the shoes are going to fit, if the dress is going to fit, if you're going to fall over," Stone said. "You can also see the whole collection in one go, how it moves and all fits together." Used to being the view, she'd enjoyed it all the more.
