Nic at Night
"I had seven shows today," said Irina Lazareanu (she of the Pete Doherty engagement rumors) at Nicolas Ghesquière's post-show bash at Le Baron. "So I should probably be home getting some rest—but a Balenciaga party is a Balenciaga party!" Also staying up past their bedtime were Hidetoshi Nakata, Charlotte Casiraghi, Natasha Poly, Raquel Welch, makeup artist Pat McGrath, and Vanity Fair's Michael Roberts. Ensconced in a booth, surveying the sweaty revelry, was Mary-Kate Olsen. "I feel like I¿m at Beatrice," she said, referring to the equally tightly packed West Village hot spot co-owned by Le Baron's André.

Saluting Scherrer
Earlier in the evening at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Jean-Louis Scherrer, a contemporary of Balenciaga (as in Cristobal) and onetime Dior assistant (under YSL), celebrated the publication of an Assouline monograph about his work. "It's extraordinary to see how theatrical the shows were," the designer said as videos showing his collections from the seventies and eighties played. Noting the look numbers that used to be carried by the models, one editor remarked, "That would save me loads of notes time if they still did that."

Fetish Partners
Rather fewer clothes were on display at Galerie du Passage in Paris, where David Lynch and Christian Louboutin's collaborative exhibition Fetish had its opening-night festivities. Lynch's photographs feature Crazy Horse dancers Nouka and Baby ("fantastic human beings," the director assured us) in provocative poses, naked aside from black bar sunglasses and Louboutin's footwear. The designer is making the shoes available in extremely limited editions, but tonight, at least, he was feeling possessive of his creations: "After the show, they are going home with me!"

Off Piste
With Prada across the street, Lanvin to the right, and Dolce & Gabbana to the left, President and Creative Director Remo Ruffini has chosen a fashionable spot for Moncler's first boutique outside of Europe's more prestigious ski resorts. (Other urban locations are slated to follow, including Milan and Tokyo next year.) But, joked Ruffini at the launch, "I actually don't want to think about fashion. I just think down jackets, every day, and that's it."

Cell Out
Artifice trumped nature at the after-party Colette threw for Jeremy Scott at the Elysée Montmartre. The huge venue was filled with glamorously kitted-out revelers (watch your back, Boombox), including Kanye West, Ellen von Unwerth, Gareth Pugh, Agyness Deyn, and Iekeliene Stange. And the surprise performance from Soft Cell's Marc Almond guaranteed this would be a night to remember.
