Despite rain, late-running shows, and a dearth of taxis, Michael Roberts didn't seem worried about any possible drop-off in attendance at the Paris fête for his book Fashion Victims. "I think they'll all come by on their way to YSL," the stylish snipper said from his perch on a couch inside the Roger Vivier store. "At least they better!"

They did: In quick procession, Suzy Menkes, Linda Wells, Amy Astley, and Andrea Dellal filed in to check out Roberts' cutout collages, on display in their entirety for the first time. And the man of the hour was soon busy signing copies of the witty satire that describes fashion industry crimes via all 26 letters of the alphabet. Watching the action unfold was Bruno Frisoni, the creative director of Roger Vivier. "This has been easy for me," he said of his hosting duties. "All I had to do was show up and look at all the glamorous people."
