Toasting Ralph Lauren's New Paris Digs
Elizabeth Saltzman Walker had been here before. "How many times have I run through that garden naked?" the front-row fixture asked, gesturing toward the backyard of the sweeping Parisian mansion that was the venue for a dinner Carine Roitfeld and David Lauren hosted in honor of the Ralph Lauren store opening on the Avenue Montaigne. "But that was when Karl Lagerfeld owned this place," Saltzman Walker clarified. "Ah, memories." She wasn't the only one paying special attention to the gilded Renaissance digs. "I hear this place is for sale," said Milla Jovovich. Told that it could all be hers for a cool 60 million euros, she mused, "Do you think it comes furnished?" Nah, probably not. Meanwhile, Roitfeld indulged in some therapeutic dirty dancing with Mario Testino, a fashion moment missed by her daughter Julia, whose appearance here was curtailed by the fact that she was acting as host of another bash atop the Eiffel Tower. "Can you believe it? My own daughter hosting a competing party with her own mother!" Roitfeld asked in mock horror.
