A Ferragamo Fête at the Louvre

Last night's Salvatore Ferragamo show at the Louvre provided its starry guests with plenty of talking points. "I loved the fringed snakeskin boots!" said Inés Sastre as she breezed toward Ferragamo CEO Michele Norsa. For Hilary Swank, it was the brown crocheted dress: "It looks so easy and elegant." But French icon Alain Delon deferred to his 21-year-old daughter Anouchka. "I know nothing about fashion," he said. Without missing a beat, the fledgling actress rattled off a list of picks, notably the slightly flared pants with lace-up details: "They look as comfortable as pajamas."

But as much as the evening was about fashion, it was even more about family: Looking younger than her 90 years and still going at midnight, matriarch Wanda Ferragamo praised creative director Massimiliano Giornetti's breakout into new fashion territory. "Times move, everything evolves. It's new, but it's still elegant," she said. "If I'm still strong, it's because I love my work. It's the love involved that makes [these things] precious."
