Mulberry Hosts the Launch of Tim Walker: Story Teller
No brand elevates British eccentricity quite like Mulberry. "Oh yes, we're absolutely bonkers," creative director Emma Hill said last night at London's Somerset House. "That's why Tim is so perfect for us." The Tim in question was photographer Tim Walker, whose new exhibit, Story Teller, sends English whimsy through the stratosphere. The Mulberry-supported show presents some of Walker's favorite photographs over the years, including Karlie Kloss jumping over a gigantic Humpty Dumpty, Alexander McQueen and a skull both smoking a cigarette in a poignant memento mori, Alber Elbaz in rabbit ears, the Monty Python gang for good measure, and, smack-dab in the middle of the floor, a giant deranged doll that once chased Lindsey Wixson through one of Walker's Vogue Italia shoots. Like we said, bonkers.
Kate Moss and Jamie Hince, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton, Kristen McMenamy, Cara Delevingne, Tallulah and Amanda Harlech, Katie Grand, and more came by to take a look. "Tim understands the way we think, where we are coming from, and that is a rare thing," Hill added, explaining why Walker has shot the Mulberry ad campaign for the last few seasons running. "We're both slightly nutters, so there it is, a perfect match."
