On Saturday night, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art kept its doors open late to celebrate its new crown jewel: the majestic Broad Contemporary Art Museum, more casually known as BCAM. The party was hosted by the institution's young patrons group, the President's Circle Avant-Garde, and sponsored by W magazine and Carolina Herrera. Rashida Jones, Ali Larter, Ginnifer Goodwin, Breckin Meyer, and Alexandra von Furstenberg (who recently opened a furniture shop on Melrose) roamed halls lined with works by Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol, and Damien Hirst. "I'm so glad I lent out my collection to the city of Los Angeles," Joy Bryant joked.

The following afternoon, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber hosted the Sixth Annual John Varvatos Stuart House Benefit, a block party of sorts on Melrose Avenue. Entertainment for kids came in the form of a Build-A-Bear Workshop table and another for customizing Converse sneakers. And for adults like Jeremy Piven and Dylan McDermott, there was a mid-afternoon performance by Alice Cooper, Wayne Kramer, and the band Cheap Trick (the latter are starring in the designer's newest ad campaign). Varvatos raised $450,000 for the charity, which serves the needs of child victims of sexual abuse. "The best part is when I write that big check at the end of the day," he said.
