It had been a day of torrential downpours in Los Angeles, but that didn't dampen the festive mood at Stella McCartney's West Hollywood boutique on Friday, where a herd of A-listers converged for a party co-hosted by the designer and her famous dad, Sir Paul. The occasion was the world premiere of the three videos the ex-Beatle directed for his new single, "My Valentine," starring Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp. "It was Stella's idea—I hadn't even thought about doing a video," the elder McCartney explained. "Originally, it was just going to have Natalie, but then I realized it was a guy's song, from a guy's point of view, so I rang Johnny, who very kindly agreed to do it. And a week after Stella mentioned the idea, I was back in L.A. filming it."

Unsurprisingly, the man with Johnny and Natalie at his beck and call had no trouble getting plenty of celebs to come out for the screening. Inside the boutique's tented back garden, Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart, Zooey Deschanel, and Woody Harrelson mingled with Gwen Stefani, Quincy Jones, and Joan Jett. Also on hand were Stella pal Gwyneth Paltrow, who sported skyscraper McCartney heels, and husband Chris Martin. Taking in the star-studded crowd, one nonfamous partygoer joked, "Geez, it's like Madame Tussauds in here."

As the videos—one featuring Portman performing the ballad's lyrics in sign language, one featuring Depp playing guitar as well as signing, and the third, which combined both stars—screened, Sir Paul snuggled front and center with his valentine, new bride Nancy Shevell. Nearby, Stella looked on proudly. Asked what inspired the videos' concept, the designer said simply, "It just came to me."
