Pre-Fashion Week Bashes for Marni and Mugler
The Marni faithful gathered at the Italian label's Meatpacking District store last night to catch a glimpse of designer Consuelo Castiglioni—and her new fragrance, the first for the house. "I remember my grandmother had such a fantastic scent," Castiglioni said, explaining that she's been fascinated with perfume ever since. For her debut fragrance endeavor, a joint venture with Estée Lauder, Castiglioni drew from her own aromatic experiences. "We put together all of the things I really like, the combination of all the wood and incense, and the black rose to make it a little more feminine," she said. "It's different, it doesn't remind you of any other fragrance."
Not far away, at the Top of the Standard, Muglerettes celebrated the brand's just-launched handbag line with Shopbop, the exclusive online retailer of a limited edition of bags hand-painted and signed by creative director Nicola Formichetti. Behind the decks, Leigh Lezark debuted a new blonde ’do, but Formichetti revealed he only has eyes for Leandra Medine. In one of his many tweets, the Mugler frontman called the Man Repeller his Internet crush.
