"This is just like in college, when you go from party to party at different frat houses," said one reveler as she made her way down Fifth Avenue last night. Frat houses? Not so much. Designers, models, and editors turned out in force for a pair of dueling fêtes at Ferragamo's refurbished flagship and the Cartier Mansion, conveniently located across 52nd Street from each other.

The evening kicked off at Ferragamo, where Solange Knowles, Lauren Remington Platt, and Rachel Chandler Guinness joined Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo to toast the store's revamp. Amid all the girls wearing the label's colorful Spring collection was Zani Gugelmann, dressed in a bright red-orange strapless frock. "My friends told me I couldn't wear this tonight because they said I look like I'm about to go on a boat or something," she told Style.com. "It's not warm at all today—the weatherman totally lied."

Over at Cartier, the likes of Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse, and Jason Wu were eyeballing the jeweler's new Juste un Clou nail bracelet collection and getting a first look at the exhibition Cartier & Aldo Cipullo: New York City in the '70s. After giving Lou Reed a tour of the show, the house's director of image, style, and heritage, Pierre Rainero, reported, "He's very much impressed. For him, that period is very important, of course, and apparently there is no nostalgia, just good memories."

Those who weren't around to see the city in the seventies were equally intrigued: "Oh my God, I just want to Instagram everything in here," said Chanel Iman, who added, "I'm heading off to Coachella tomorrow and I've spent the whole week planning my outfits. But really, I'm just there to see Dr. Dre and Snoop." Her weekend got a jumpstart at the Cartier after-party downtown, where Rita Ora serenaded the crowd, even doing a cover of Destiny's Child's "Say My Name." Little did she know, Beyoncé herself, along with Jay-Z, was in the house.
