Members of the fashion set were understandably tuckered out after Monday night's Met Ball. The obvious way to recuperate? With not one, but two Tuesday-night designer dinners. The first was a cozy affair to celebrate Haider Ackermann. Hosted by W magazine and Saks Fifth Avenue in the eccentric upstairs room at Greenwich Village eatery The Lion (eccentric because, well, it's hidden behind a secret door that reveals unusual nudes, animal-skin-covered chairs, and even a boar's head), the soiree drew Vanessa Traina, Max Snow, and Elizabeth von Guttman. "I love it here," said Ackermann. "It has such a great history. Did you know Barbra Streisand used to perform in this space?"

Ackermann's next trip will be to his native Colombia, where he'll be the guest of honor at Colombia fashion week. "Twenty of my friends are following me, and after [the show] we're going to spend two weeks in the mountains." Joining him will be pal Waris Ahluwalia, who, having been introduced to Ackermann through mutual friend Tilda Swinton, was also in attendance. "It was instantaneous," he said of his friendship with Ackermann. "We fell in love right away."

Meanwhile, over in Nolita, MR PORTER.COM invited the likes of Joseph Altuzarra and Scott Schuman to a low-key fete at Lovely Day, in honor of its forthcoming collaboration with Ami's Alexandre Mattiussi. "Ami means 'friend' in French," said Mattiussi. "I'm usually super intimidated by these kinds of events, but I just wanted to invite my friends to have some champagne." The designer and MR PORTER.COM launched their brands simultaneously two years ago, and they've been mutually supportive of each other ever since. "MR PORTER has an exclusive place in my heart," he cooed.

Speaking of special relationships, businessman and bon vivant Jean Pigozzi opened his Upper East Side home last night to celebrate his partnership with Laura Poretzky-Garcia and Lily Dickerson Maddock of the swimwear brand Été. Their Limoland bikinis start at $110 at Barneys.
