An Equine Rescue Benefit
Hamptonites Pony Up for a Good Cause
Rumor had it that Madonna would be at photographer pal Steven Klein's Bridgehampton estate on Saturday night for the Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue Benefit. She wasn't. And a few guests had a difficult time containing their grief. Was that really booing we heard when co-chair Gwyneth Paltrow, instead of the absentee Material Girl, read a poem? Still, the $500-a-ticket benefit must go on. After some professional demonstrations on Klein's trusty steeds, the party and its guests moved to a circular dance floor in the middle of a dark field to boogie down to—you guessed it—Madonna's new album. Surveying the impressive estate and its acres of corn, photographer Craig McDean asked, "A nice chunk of land, innit?" And no doubt difficult to check for passed-out late-night revelers. "Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow there won't be anyone out here," said Klein. "Hopefully."
