The pretty people came out en masse Wednesday night for the Model.Live launch party at Gemma. Spotted among the crowd were supermodels (Kirsty Hume), moonlighting models (the genetically blessed med student Elettra Wiedemann), and, of course, models in the making: Austria Alcantara, Madeline Kragh, and Cato Van Ee. If those last three names don't ring a bell, just wait. The trifecta of fresh-scrubbed beauties is poised to conquer the catwalk, thanks in part to their star turns on Model.Live, the new Internet reality show backed by Vogue. While guests sipped custom-made cocktails like the Fashionista and the Model.Live Martini, we managed to corner Miss Van Ee for a little one-on-one time. "It's sort of weird that, like, a million people tune in to see me," sighed the comely blonde. "But then again, it is kind of cool that my family back in Holland can go on the Web and see what I'm up to." While the mannequins posed for the photogs, socials like Kate Schelter opted for a more antiquated form of portraiture courtesy of illustrator Bill Donovan, who's become something of the Cecil Beaton of the contemporary party circuit.
