Fashion month may be chugging along in Milan, but it's still business as usual back on the Manhattan social circuit. On Tuesday evening, the place to be was the "New York After Dark" party at the Museum of the City of New York. Sponsors Leviev Diamonds and J. Mendel glammed up attendees like Marina Rust Connor, Shoshanna Gruss, and Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos for the occasion, which included cocktails, dancing, and a buffet dinner on the Fifth Avenue museum's renovated terraces. While an eclectic soundtrack of Amy Winehouse, Spoon, and Frank Sinatra filled the air, New York's beau monde shared their favorite "after dark" activities. "I like to go to Shake Shack for a great burger," offered Gilles Mendel. "I think the best thing to do at night is take a bath and look out the window over Central Park West," said Helen Lee Schifter. "I don't really wear makeup during the day so after dark is a time to play and actually use what I've created," said beauty scion Olivia Chantecaille. "And if I mess it up, no one will see. Night light is always more forgiving." Hmmm, burgers, baths, and makeovers? Unless someone's holding out on us, sounds like the city that never sleeps is getting dangerously cozy.
