Powerful Presenters and Honorees at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards
Slated to perform an opening act with Debbie Harry, Theophilus London had music on his mind as he arrived at the 21st annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards. "Insane," was how the rapper-cum-DJ described the situation before he took the stage at Carnegie Hall with Blondie. "She reached out to me because she's a big fan of mine, which blows my mind." Nearby, Tory Burch walked the red carpet with her presenter, Jessica Alba. "We met through friends," the actress said, already svelte after giving birth to her second baby in August. The two bonded from their experiences as moms. "It's a bi-coastal relationship," Burch joked.
And good things came in twos all night long. Donatella Versace gave Jennifer Lopez an orbit-shaped statuette for going from superstar to superbrand, while Marc Jacobs presented Cindy Sherman with a prize of her own for her nuanced self-portraits. Taking the stage in a short-in-front, long-in-back black gown, Jennifer Aniston confessed she was "madly in love" with award-winner Chelsea Handler. She was kidding, of course (her beau, Justin Theroux, was never far from her side), and went on to add: "I only went on her show so she wouldn't talk sh–t about me." But leave it to honoree Arianna Huffington to have the best one-liner of all. After spending time in London as a young woman with a man who wasn't ready to commit, the media entrepreneur up and moved to New York. "See," she said, "all this happened because a man wouldn't marry me."
