Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino's Giancarlo Giammetti are fans, while Coco Chanel is said to have had a living room full of their sheep sculptures. Now legendary French artists Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne are set to receive even wider exposure, thanks to another designer supporter, Reed Krakoff. On Tuesday night at Bergdorf Goodman, Krakoff hosted a cocktail party in honor of the creative duo and their new book, Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne—a glossy coffee-table tome that the Coach creative director is publishing in conjunction with the evening's co-hosts, gallerists Paul Kasmin and Ben Brown.

"My kids love the sheep," said Krakoff, gesturing to the woolly farm-animal sculptures that he brought from home to the party. "I hope nothing happens to them." A collector of Lalanne pieces for a decade, he explained that he worked on the book for the past year and a half, even enlisting his campaign photographer, Steven Sebring, to shoot its contents. "I wasn't that familiar with their work," admitted the cameraman. But in further testament to the Lalannes' appeal, he added: "Now I'm a collector. I bought the desk on the cover."
