Either the designers have boundless energy or a hidden stash of Red Bull. "It's the Dolce & Gabbana life: more, more, more!" explained Gabbana at the Gramercy Park fête. "We don't like to do things small." True to their word, the duo ensured that their Tuesday-night party was lavish and its invitees strictly A-list. Many guests, including Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes, Alek Wek, and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld worked the room in—what else?—Dolce & Gabbana frocks. Anne Hathaway dubbed her pencil skirt and jeweled top "nerd glam," Lauren Davis' frothy cocktail dress was a "Jackson Pollock cupcake," and Jacquetta Wheeler characterized her red satin number as "sexy Santa." Surveying the scene, Dolce was ready to declare the trip a success. "Look at all the glamour," he said. "Molto bene! I will be very sad to leave tomorrow."

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Vogue's European editor at large, Hamish Bowles, was ensconced at the Oscar de la Renta boutique autographing copies of his new book, Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People, for the likes of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Rachel Zoe, Liz Goldwyn, Alexandra von Furstenberg, Angie Harmon, and Rosanna Arquette. "I signed 100 copies yesterday, so I have slight wrist pain," said the writer, bemoaning the unforeseen physical demands of a book tour.
