Fashion Fêtes for Menswear Brands and a Lingerie Label

Manhattan dandies and the guys who dress them gathered Wednesday for a GQ- and CFDA-hosted party toasting "the best new menswear designers in America." The labels that made the cut—Engineered Garments, Gilded Age, Obedient Sons, Rag & Bone, Spurr, and Steven Alan— offered up exclusive Fall looks. (Ultimately, one of the brands will be chosen as the winner and receive a $50,000 cash prize.) OutKast's André 3000 had shown off his own menswear line to press and buyers the night before and was inspired by what he saw. "Whenever I'm at one of these events, it gets me going," he said. Nearby at the Eres shop, meanwhile, there was barely enough room to swing a brassiere as lingerie-clad models preened for a pack of Champagne-swilling socials, including Arden Wohl and Claire Bernard. The event, a first look at the company's spring line, was sponsored by Vogue and…the American Museum of Natural History. Go figure.
