Shanghai ExpressChristina Ricci and co. Jet in for Ferragamo's 80th Anniversary This is a big year for Ferragamo. The company's new creative director, Cristina Ortiz, debuted her first collection in February, and an initial public offering is in the works. Over the weekend, the Italian house flew Christina Ricci, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, among other Hollywood starlets, all the way to Shanghai to celebrate the label's 80th anniversary with three generations of Ferragamos. On the agenda were a daytime opening of an exhibition of the house's most iconic pieces at the city's Museum of Contemporary Art, and an evening Fall 2008 fashion show on the Huang Pu River complete with a performance by brand ambassador and ballet star Roberto Bolle. Afterward, the lights on the Pudong side of Shanghai were dimmed for a fireworks show that put to rest any lingering doubts about the importance of China to the fashion business.
