Tina Brown and her ex-Talk colleague and current Vanity Fair contributor Vicky Ward, along with La Mer cosmetics, hosted a party for writer Susan Nagel at Brown's book-lined apartment on Tuesday night. Nagel's new work, Marie-Thérèse, Child of Terror, explores the fate of Marie Antoinette's daughter, but Nagel was happy to discuss some more contemporary figures of intrigue: TV's Gossip Girl. Her own daughter, she said, attended the Manhattan prep school that inspired the series, but had a two-word verdict on the show: "so California."
